ENT (Otolaryngology), Head & Neck Surgery

About ENT (Otolaryngology), Head & Neck Surgery

The department of ENT provides comprehensive care to patients with diseases of the ear, nose, throat, head & neck and skull base. This department was the first in India to start the 22 (multi) Channel electrode Cochlear implant programme in 1995. The department is well known for management of head and neck cancers since the early 1980’s. It has a large series of Total laryngopharyngoesophagectomy with Gastric transposition surgeries. The department also has the credit of introducing endoscopic sinus surgery in 1989. The department has been performing KTP laser assisted surgeries for treatment of various head and neck lesions including early stage cancers since 1999.

We work in multidisciplinary teams for management of complex disorders for the treatment and rehabilitation. These multidisciplinary teams are especially needed for skull base tumours, vertigo, airway surgery including for sleep apnoea, hearing disorders and swallowing disorders The recent opening of the Center for balance disorders has allowed this unique center to specifically manage patients with giddiness as a multidisciplinary team & we caters to patients from Goa to northern parts of Kerala with most of the patients being from Karnataka. We cater to patients referred from the Middle East and Mauritius also.
