Kasturba Hospital Laboratory Services (KHLS) is a NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited (certificate number: MC-2593) laboratory as per the standard ISO 15189:2012. KHLS provides diagnostic services to Kasturba Hospital which is a tertiary care teaching hospital with > 2000 beds and >3000 out patients per day. KHLS also caters to the nearby district nursing homes and private laboratories. The laboratory has >400 different tests under the NABL scope of accreditation. The laboratory has the world class infrastructure with trained and competent staff. Around 60 laboratory consultants and 120 laboratory technicians work in the lab along with the housekeeping and clerical staff. The laboratory provides service 24 x 7.

KHLS performs around 80 lakh tests per year. KHLS labs actively participate in IQC/EQAS/ILCP program for quality monitoring. KHLS offers Walk-in laboratory and sample collection facility (6 am to 7pm, on all days) which enables many patients and others in general with diagnostic testing services. The final reports are sent to registered mobile numbers of patients as password protected SMS link. The laboratory has hospital information system, laboratory information system, and middleware software. All the laboratory related documents are stored in the soft copy format.
